Stephen F. Austin blanks Mississippi Valley State 10-0 in series finale

NAUGDOCHES, Texas — Mississippi Valley State University’s baseball team was unable to score against Stephen F. Austin’s pitching staff in the series finale, losing 10-0 in seven innings, according to box score data.

The Diamond Devils, who remain winless at 0-4, faced a strong performance from the Lumberjacks, who improved to 4-0. The game was played at Pilgrim’s Park in Nacogdoches. Since 2006, Stephen F. Austin leads the series 5-1 and has won five consecutive matchups.

Valley State’s top performers included Jordan Jones, who came off the bench in the seventh inning to deliver a pinch-hit single. Israel Ramos contributed the team’s only other hit, a single to centerfield. On the mound, Clint Lafferty struck out two Lumberjacks, while Logan Darnell fanned one.
