Southwest Softball’s Allie Ladnier Signs with Spring Hill College
Southwest softball player Allie Ladnier has signed to continue her athletic and academic career at Spring Hill College. Ladnier, a pitcher and hitter for the Lady Bears, announced her decision alongside family and coaches.
In her freshman year, Ladnier played 35 games, batting .304 with 31 hits, 32 RBIs, 10 doubles, and one home run. She also recorded 64 strikeouts in 18 pitching appearances before suffering a back injury. During her sophomore season, she boasts a .326 batting average with 29 hits, 25 RBIs, seven doubles, and eight home runs. She has also been a dominant force on the mound with a 10-4 record and 90 strikeouts in 21 games this season.
“Going back home was a big thing. Also, I’ve always wanted to go there. I just didn’t choose the four-year route out of high school. I always felt like that was home,” Ladnier said. She added that overcoming a serious injury last year, which kept her out for six and a half months, helped her develop resilience. “Having to make it through my injury last year and now having the season I’m having is a big thing,” she said.
Her coach, Shea Johnson, praised her development and character. “Allie is very special. Her upside is tremendous, and she’s a talented player and person. She’s a Christian and a young lady I’m proud of,” Johnson said.
Details of her signing were shared by Southwest officials, highlighting her as a key player and a positive influence on the team. Ladnier’s journey exemplifies perseverance and dedication, leading to her bright future at Spring Hill College.
