Southwest Mississippi’s Courterius Scott surpasses 1,000 career points

Courterius Scott of Southwest Mississippi College surpassed 1,000 career points with a game-winning shot against Jones College in the final game of the regular season, according to the college. Scott scored 564 points this season while shooting 49% from the field.

Scott began his college career at Co-Lin, where he scored 437 points for the Wolves. He has not missed a game in the 2023-24 and 2025-26 seasons and was redshirted medically for the 2024-25 season, the college said.

This season, Scott led the Bears in scoring, averaging 18.8 points per game and playing an average of 34.2 minutes. His contributions helped Southwest Mississippi secure a strong position heading into the postseason.
