Southern Miss Softball Moves Saturday Doubleheader to Friday Due to Weather
The University of Southern Mississippi Department of Athletics announced Thursday that the softball game against James Madison scheduled for Saturday has been moved to Friday evening. The doubleheader will now take place starting at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., respectively.
The change comes in response to forecasted stormy weather expected in the Hattiesburg area on Saturday. The department decided to reschedule to ensure the safety of players and fans while maintaining the series schedule.
Southern Miss officials confirmed the doubleheader will proceed on Friday, with the second game moved to the later time. Fans are encouraged to follow the team’s social media pages for the latest updates. The team’s handles include Facebook (facebook.com/SouthernMissSB), X (@SouthernMissSB), and Instagram (@southernmisssb).
The series opener on Thursday was also affected by weather, with the game time changed due to the forecast. The university continues to monitor weather conditions and will provide further updates as needed.
