Southern Miss Beach Volleyball Announces 2026 Schedule
The University of Southern Mississippi announced its 2026 beach volleyball schedule, which includes 33 matches across eight weekend tournaments. The Golden Eagles’ season begins Feb. 20 at the Third Coast Challenge in Houston, Texas, with four matches over two days, according to team officials.
Head coach Shawn Taylor expressed excitement about the schedule, highlighting the level of competition and new opponents. Taylor said, “A lot of the programs we face play at or above our level, which will help us grow. We also have the opportunity to visit Arizona State and Mercer for the first time in program history.”
The team’s season features multiple tournaments, starting with the Texas event, followed by the Tiger Beach Challenge in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Feb. 27-28. In early March, Southern Miss will compete in the Sun Devil Classic in Tempe, Arizona, and the Stetson Spring Invitational in Florida. The Golden Eagles’ only home tournament, the Spring Break Slam, takes place March 20-21 in Hattiesburg, with matches against Spring Hill and ULM. Senior day festivities will be held after the final match.
The team will also participate in the Sun Belt Conference Mid-Season Tournament in Macon, Georgia, on March 27-28. The tournament aims to help seed the conference championship, scheduled for April in Foley, Alabama. The Golden Eagles will conclude their regular season at the Tulane NOLA Classic in Louisiana on April 17-18, facing FIU, New Orleans, ULM, and Tulane.
The Sun Belt Championships are set for April 23-25 at Foley Sports Tourism Complex. The tournament will determine the conference champion, with the final match scheduled for April 25 at 1 p.m., according to league officials.
