Southern Arkansas dominates Delta State 7-0 in men’s tennis

MAGNOLIA, Ark. — The Delta State University men’s tennis team was swept by Southern Arkansas 7-0 Sunday at the Live Oak Tennis Courts. The Muleriders secured the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles and claimed all six singles courts.

In doubles play, Marti Cerda Castillo and Valentino Millimaci fell 6-3 at No. 1, while Valentin Greco and Simon Ojeda lost 6-4 at No. 2. The third doubles match was unfinished with Delta State trailing 4-2.

Southern Arkansas maintained control in singles, winning all six matches. Ojeda lost 6-1, 6-2 at No. 1, and Greco was defeated 6-2, 7-6 at No. 3. Alejandro Bravo pushed his match to a third-set tiebreak at No. 5 before falling 6-0, 11-13. The Muleriders also earned straight-set victories at Nos. 2, 4, and 6.

The loss drops Delta State to 5-4 on the season. The team is scheduled to play Friday against Lynn University in a neutral-site non-conference match in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
