Six student-athletes from Blue Mountain Christian University have been named NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2025-26 winter sports season, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Thursday.

The honor recognizes students who excel academically and athletically across sports including basketball, bowling, cheer, dance, swimming and diving, and wrestling. To qualify, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, be listed on their sport’s eligibility certificate, and attend their institution for at least one year, according to NAIA guidelines.

“We are incredibly proud of these student-athletes for the commitment they have shown to excellence in every area of their lives,” said BMCU Athletic Director Curt Fowler. “Their discipline, character, and dedication reflect the true mission of Blue Mountain Christian University Athletics—developing young men and women into leaders in the classroom and in life.”

The recognized athletes are Isabella Carlson, Jacob Hinton, Kathryn Echols, Lindsey Murr, Maddie Kirk, and Rebecca Walter. For the full list of NAIA Scholar-Athletes, visit NAIA’s official website.
