Rotich Leads Mississippi Valley State at MSU Track Meet
STARKVILLE, Miss. — The Mississippi Valley State University track and field team wrapped up its weekend at Mike Sanders Track Complex, aiming for a strong outdoor season. The Delta Devils participated in the Mississippi State-hosted meet without official team scores.
Timothy Rotich led the men’s team with the highest overall finish, placing in the top 15 in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:09.72, according to team officials. Also on Saturday, Henry Espy set a personal record in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.18 seconds.
On the women’s side, both Aniyah Thomas and Yvelisse Zamora achieved personal bests in the shot put. Thomas recorded a mark of 11.30 meters, while Zamora threw 8.09 meters, surpassing their previous bests, team sources said.
Mississippi Valley State is scheduled to return to competition April 3 and 4 at the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg.
