The William Carey men’s basketball team is headed to the SLIAC championship game after an 80-58 victory over Lyon College in the semifinals Saturday in St. Louis.
The No. 2 seed Owls improved to 16-10 with the win. They will face the winner of the other semifinal between No. 4 seed Spalding University and No. 1 seed Webster University, the tournament host.
William Carey’s victory marks a milestone for the program, which also earned a spot in the NCAA Division III national tournament, according to sources. The championship game is scheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Webster University.
Lyon, the No. 3 seed, finished their season at 17-9.
