Ole Miss Women’s Tennis Prepares for Final Home Matches Against Mississippi Valley State and Memphis
Ole Miss women’s tennis will play its final home matches of the season on Tuesday, April 7, at the Palmer/Salloum Outdoor Tennis Center in Oxford, Mississippi. The Rebels (11-9, 5-8 SEC) will face Mississippi Valley State at 11 a.m. and Memphis at 4 p.m., with the team aiming to extend its recent winning streak.
The Rebels are coming off a weekend where they defeated No. 51 Mississippi State and No. 44 Alabama. They hope to carry that momentum into their matches against the Delta Devils and Tigers.
Following the first match, Ole Miss will honor seniors Emily Welker and Emma Kette on Senior Day. Welker has accumulated 57 career wins across singles and doubles during her time in Oxford, including a team-best 20-5 singles record this season. She advanced to the NCAA Singles Championships semifinals last fall, earning All-American honors.
Kette, who has spent four seasons with the Rebels, has tallied 58 total wins in singles and doubles and is a member of the program since 2022. The team will then face Memphis, a 2-15 opponent from the American Conference. The match against Memphis will mark the season’s final home contest.
Ole Miss’s roster features several notable players, including freshman Riley Crowder, ranked as the top recruit from Alabama in 2025, and senior Ichino Horikawa, who played a key role in the team’s upset of No. 4 LSU last season. The Rebels also boast Emily Welker, ranked No. 6 in ITA singles, and doubles team Andrea Nova and Welker, ranked No. 9 nationally.
Following these matches, Ole Miss will close the season with road games before competing in the SEC Tournament. The team’s remaining schedule includes matchups at Tennessee and Kentucky, with the SEC Tournament scheduled to begin later this month.
