Ole Miss Women’s Golf to Compete in Darius Rucker Intercollegiate on Golf Channel

The University of Mississippi women’s golf team, ranked No. 15 nationally, is set to compete in the 14th edition of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate from March 2-4 at Long Cove Club in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. The event will feature live coverage on Golf Channel from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. CT each day, marking Ole Miss’s first appearance at the tournament.

Ole Miss’s lineup includes Kajsalotta Svarvar, Sophie Linder, Mary Miller, Matilda Björkman, and Nicole Gal. Svarvar leads the team with a 71.12 scoring average and set a career-low 54-hole score of 203 (-10) at the Cougar Classic. Linder has seven rounds under par this season, while Miller has three top-15 finishes. Björkman, a freshman from Sweden, made an immediate impact with a T3 finish at her debut event.

The field includes notable programs such as Alabama, Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Northwestern, Ohio State, South Carolina, Texas, Vanderbilt, and Wake Forest. It also features SEC schools like Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, South Carolina, and Vanderbilt.

Ole Miss head coach Kory Henkes, a former South Carolina player and SEC champion, will be competing in her hometown. Since taking over the program in 2015, Henkes has led the Rebels to 22 team titles, a national championship in 2021, and multiple all-American and all-SEC honors for her players. Her leadership has elevated Ole Miss women’s golf to national prominence.

The Rebels aim to extend their winning streak after back-to-back victories last fall, including a third win at the Cougar Classic under Henkes. With seven players returning, Ole Miss hopes to continue its success and qualify for the NCAA Tournament for the eighth consecutive year.
