Ole Miss Women’s Golf Sits Fifth After Two Rounds at Puerto Rico Classic
RIO GRANDE, Puerto Rico — The University of Mississippi women’s golf team is in fifth place after two rounds at the Puerto Rico Classic, according to results released Sunday. The Rebels posted a team score of 566, 10-under par, at the Grand Reserve Golf Club.
Kajsalotta Svarvar leads Ole Miss with a five-under total after rounds of 69 and 70. She started the day with a bogey but responded with four birdies in her next five holes. Svarvar finished her first round even par on the back nine and closed the second round with three birdies over her final 14 holes. She is tied for eighth place overall heading into the final round.
Matilda Björkman also contributed for the Rebels, shooting a total of four-under through two rounds. She posted a 71 in the first round and a 69 in the second. Björkman has six rounds in red figures this season and is currently tied for 12th, with 18 holes remaining.
Mary Miller is also under par at two-under after 36 holes. Meanwhile, Sophie Linder, Nicole Gal, and Filippa Sundquist all struggled in the first two rounds, though Sundquist rebounded from a tough opening to shoot a career-low 18-hole score of four-under in round two.
