The University of Mississippi women’s golf team improved its position after two rounds of the Moon Golf Invitational at Suntree Country Club in Melbourne, Florida. The Rebels moved up three spots to sit seventh overall, with a team score of 587 (+11).

Freshman Matilda Björkman paced Ole Miss with a three-under 69 in the second round. She started the day with nine straight pars, then birdied three of her next six holes before closing with three consecutive pars. Björkman was the only Rebel to go bogey-free on the day and jumped 33 spots to tie for seventh place overall.

Sophomore Sophie Linder also scored under par, carding a one-under 71. Kajsalotta Svarvar rebounded after a tough opening round, shooting even par. Nicole Gal and Mary Miller each finished with three-over 75. Only two holes on the course are under par through 36 holes, according to tournament officials.

Björkman leads the field in par-4 scoring, sitting five-under on the week. The final round is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT with a shotgun start. Ole Miss will look to continue its improvement as the tournament concludes Tuesday.
