Ole Miss Women’s Golf Falls to South Carolina at Old Barnwell Match Play
The Ole Miss women’s golf team, ranked 17th nationally, lost to South Carolina, ranked 22nd, 4.5-0.5 Tuesday at the Old Barnwell Derby Match Play in Aiken, South Carolina.
Sophie Linder earned the Rebels’ only half point, tying her match against Vairana Heck on the 18th hole by making par. Kajsalotta Svarvar, who was facing the eighth-ranked player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, Eila Galitsky, lost 6&5 but finished the week with a 2-1 record in her matches.
Mary Miller lost to Molly McLean 3&2, and Larissa Carrillo was defeated 1UP by Mia Sandtorv Lussand. Ole Miss will return home to prepare for the Clemson Invitational, set for March 27-29 in Sunset, South Carolina.
