Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Faces Alabama in Tuscaloosa on Thursday

Ole Miss women’s basketball is headed to Tuscaloosa to face Alabama on Thursday night. The game is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT at Coleman Coliseum and will be streamed on SEC Network, according to university officials.

The Rebels, ranked No. 13/14 with a 19-4 overall record and 6-2 in SEC play, will look to even the series against Alabama. The Crimson Tide, also 19-4 overall and 5-4 in conference, hold a slight series lead at 15-14. The series dates back to 1977, with Ole Miss winning 38 of the 68 meetings.

Ole Miss coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, in her eighth season, leads the Rebels. Alabama coach Kristy Curry, in her 13th season at the school, has led the Tide to a top-25 ranking and a strong offensive showing this season. The Tide average 71.8 points per game, with Jessica Timmons leading in scoring at 16 points per game.

In their last outing, Ole Miss defeated Auburn 71-45 in Birmingham, marking its lowest opponent scoring total of the season. Cotie McMahon scored 20 points and contributed seven rebounds. The Rebels are coming off a challenging stretch due to winter weather, which forced schedule adjustments and extended their road trip.

Ole Miss will return home to host Arkansas on Feb. 12, its first game in Oxford in nearly a month. The team remains optimistic about its postseason prospects and aims to continue its strong performance in SEC play.
