Ole Miss Women’s Basketball Coaches Discuss Season After Top 25 Matchups

OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss women’s basketball coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin, along with sophomore forward Desrae Kyles and freshman guard Lauren Jacobs, addressed the media Monday following a challenging week against four top-25 ranked teams.

The Rebels faced a tough stretch, with losses to No. 3 South Carolina, LSU, and other nationally ranked teams. McPhee-McCuin reflected on the team’s performance and the difficulty of the schedule.

Ole Miss played several close games against highly ranked opponents, including a narrow loss to LSU and a significant defeat to South Carolina. The team remains focused on improving ahead of the postseason, McPhee-McCuin said.

Players Kyles and Jacobs also shared their insights on the team’s progress and what’s ahead. The Rebels are preparing for their upcoming games in the Southeastern Conference tournament and beyond.

The team’s schedule continues with a game against Florida on Monday, followed by a matchup with Texas A&M in the SEC tournament. The NCAA tournament is also on the horizon, with dates yet to be announced.
