Ole Miss Women’s Basketball beats Missouri behind Cotie McMahon’s career-high 33 points
COLUMBIA, Mo. — Cotie McMahon scored 33 points, tying her career high, to lift Ole Miss women’s basketball to an 82-61 victory over Missouri on Thursday night at Mizzou Arena.
The No. 18 Rebels improved to 17-4 overall and 4-2 in Southeastern Conference play. Missouri fell to 13-9, 1-6 SEC.
McMahon was the game’s top scorer, adding 12 rebounds and five assists for her first double-double of the season. She scored most of her points in the second half, making 9 of 13 shots after halftime. Her 33 points matched her career best and was the most by a Rebel since Marquesha Davis scored 33 against Florida on March 8, 2024.
Ole Miss held Missouri to 34.4% shooting from the floor and limited the Tigers to four made three-pointers on 20 attempts. Missouri entered the game averaging nearly 40% from three-point range and nine threes per game.
Defensively, Latasha Lattimore blocked four shots, while Sira Thienou stole four passes and scored 17 points with 10 rebounds for her first career double-double. Lattimore also contributed with five field goals and added six rebounds.
The Rebels led 29-23 at halftime and pushed their advantage to double digits after McMahon’s contributions in the third quarter. Ole Miss maintained its momentum in the final period, shooting 91.7% from the field in the fourth quarter and outscoring Missouri 33-22.
Ole Miss will next host No. 17 Tennessee on Saturday at 6 p.m., with the game set to be broadcast on ESPNU.
