Ole Miss’ Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan Named SEC Co-Field Athlete of the Week
Birmingham, Ala. — Ole Miss track and field senior Tarik Robinson-O’Hagan has been named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Co-Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
Robinson-O’Hagan, a three-time NCAA champion, set a personal best of 21.18 meters (69-6) in the shot put at Clemson’s Bob Pollock Invitational last week. The throw ranks him third among all Americans this season and fourth internationally, according to the SEC.
The performance improved his previous national lead of 20.76 meters (68-1.50) and marked his fifth legal throw of at least 20.71 meters (67-11.50). It also moved him into second in collegiate history indoors for the shot put and within striking distance of becoming the first athlete indoors in conference history to surpass 70 feet in the event.
Robinson-O’Hagan’s new indoor shot put PR also boosted his career combined best in the shot and weight throws to 45.53 meters (149-4), second in collegiate history behind North Dakota State’s Peyton Otterdahl. He has not lost an indoor shot put competition to a fellow college athlete since the 2024 Razorback Invitational.
In addition to his shot put success, Robinson-O’Hagan finished as the top collegiate finisher in the weight throw at Clemson, placing second with a mark of 23.43 meters (76-10.50). He leads the SEC and is third nationally in the weight throw with a season debut of 23.78 meters (78-0.25).
The Rebels will compete next at the New Mexico Classic in Albuquerque on Feb. 6-7, where both men’s and women’s teams will be competing on the road.
