Ole Miss Softball Places Three Players on Softball America March Power Rankings

The University of Mississippi softball team has earned recognition with three players named to Softball America’s March position power rankings, according to a release from the school. The Rebels began the season with an 18-5 record before conference play.

Persy Llamas was ranked No. 12 nationally at first base. The sophomore has hit .430 with five home runs, 25 RBIs, and six doubles. Llamas played a key role in the team’s success, including a walk-off win against Miami in the home opener.

Mackenzie Pickens was ranked No. 14 at second base. The sophomore is batting .348 with six home runs, 24 RBIs, five doubles, and 11 walks. She also leads the SEC with seven hit-by-pitches and set a program record with six RBIs in a game against Mercer.

Madi George was ranked No. 11 as a utility player. The freshman leads Ole Miss with a .455 batting average, along with seven home runs, 23 RBIs, and 14 walks. Her .833 slugging percentage and .550 on-base percentage also lead the team, with her seven home runs ranking third among SEC freshmen.

The Rebels are set to face No. 4 Alabama on Friday at 6 p.m. CT, with the game streaming on SEC Network Plus.
