Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Sweeps Furman in Doubleheader
The Ole Miss men’s tennis team extended its winning streak with a pair of shutout victories over Furman on Saturday in Oxford, Mississippi. The Rebels improved to 4-0 after claiming both matches in straight sets at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center.
In the first match, Ole Miss took the doubles point early, with Pietro Pampanin and Vlado Jankanj winning 6-0 against Furman’s Alex Han and Finn Pollard. Matthieu Chambonniere and Benjamin Martin secured the doubles point with a 6-3 victory over Evan Duggal and Landon Ecarma. The Rebels then dominated singles play, with Noah Schlagenhauf defeating Landon Ecarma 6-2, 6-0, and Isac Strömberg clinching the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Nicolas Dispas.
The second match saw Ole Miss continue its strong performance, again winning 4-0. The Rebels captured the doubles point with victories from Stromberg and Kai Milburn, 6-3, and Chambonniere and Martin, 6-3. In singles, Schlagenhauf rolled to a 6-0, 6-3 win over Dispas, while Jankanj secured the third point with a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Evan Duggal. Milburn added a straight-set win to seal the sweep.
