Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Reschedules Match Against Tulane to Friday Afternoon
OXFORD, Miss. — Ole Miss men’s tennis has moved its match against Tulane to Friday afternoon at 2:30 p.m., citing forecasted inclement weather. The match will be held at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center, according to the university.
The Rebels, who began the season with four straight wins, were originally scheduled to play Tulane in a doubleheader Sunday alongside a match against Eastern Kentucky. However, those matches were canceled due to weather concerns, prompting the schedule change for Friday.
Ole Miss coach Jake Jacoby, who recently earned his first victories as head coach, aims to build on the team’s momentum. Tulane arrives in Oxford after a 7-0 victory over Southern University and features the No. 68 doubles team of Daniel Phillips and Alec Gaudin, according to the ITA rankings.
Early season standouts for Ole Miss include sophomore Matthieu Chambonniere, who has performed well at No. 1 singles, and the doubles duo of Isac Strömberg and Kai Milburn. Live scoring and video links are available on the university’s website and social media platforms.
Ole Miss’s upcoming schedule also includes matches against Chattanooga, Southern Miss, North Dakota, Nebraska, Mercer, Memphis, Belmont, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Arkansas, LSU, Vanderbilt, Florida, South Carolina, Georgia, and Mississippi State, with dates spanning through March.
Tulane, with a 5-16 record last season, is looking to improve this spring. The Green Wave added SEC transfers AJ Mercer and Lance Nisbet to bolster their roster as they prepare for the rest of their schedule.
