Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Opens Conference Play with Top-15 Matchups

Ole Miss men’s tennis is set to begin conference play with two highly ranked matches this weekend. The Rebels will travel to College Station, Texas, to face No. 16 Texas A&M on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Mitchell Tennis Center, followed by a trip to Norman, Oklahoma, to play No. 18 Oklahoma on Monday at the Headington Family Tennis Center.

Ole Miss enters the weekend with a 12-0 record, marking the best start in program history and surpassing the 1957 team’s 11-0 beginning, according to the university. The team also boasts two ranked doubles pairs: No. 40 Isac Stromberg and Kai Milburn, and No. 87 Loan Lestir and Matthieu Chambonniere.

Texas A&M holds a 7-3 record and has faced multiple SEC opponents, including a 4-1 win over Tennessee and losses to Texas and LSU. The Aggies feature three ranked singles players, led by No. 78 Theo Papamalamis, along with two doubles pairs ranked within the top 80.

Oklahoma, with an 8-1 record, also features a deep roster of ranked singles players and doubles teams. Notable players include No. 49 Luis Carlos Alvarez Valdes and No. 79 Oscar Lacides, with doubles teams ranked No. 54 and No. 71.

Ole Miss is hoping to extend its winning streak against these top opponents and continue its historic start this season, which includes ranked doubles pairings and a roster full of experienced players, according to the university.
