Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Hosts No. 2 Texas and No. 48 Tennessee in Weekend Matchups
The University of Mississippi men’s tennis team will host two Southeastern Conference matches this weekend at home in Oxford, Mississippi. The Rebels will face No. 2 Texas on Thursday, April 2, at 1 p.m. and No. 48 Tennessee on Saturday, April 4, at the same time.
Ole Miss enters the weekend with a 16-6 overall record and a 4-6 mark in SEC play. The team is led by singles players No. 77 Stefano D’Agostino and No. 110 Matthieu Chambonniere. In doubles, the duo of Isac Stromberg and Kai Milburn holds the No. 23 ranking.
Texas, with an 18-6 overall record and a 9-2 SEC record, features five ranked singles players, including No. 3 Sebastian Gorzny, No. 31 Kalin Ivanovski, and No. 36 Sebastian Eriksson. The Longhorns also have two ranked doubles teams, including No. 26 Lucas Marionneau and Sebastian Gorzny.
So far this season, Texas has defeated seven top-10 opponents, including No. 8 Texas A&M and No. 2 Ohio State. Meanwhile, Tennessee, with a 10-14 record and a 1-10 SEC mark, will look for an upset against Ole Miss. The Volunteers’ top-ranked player is No. 116 Alejandro Moreno.
