Ole Miss Men’s Tennis Extends Undefeated Streak With Doubleheader Wins

OXFORD, Miss. — The University of Mississippi men’s tennis team extended its winning streak to 11 matches with a doubleheader sweep Saturday at the William F. Galtney Indoor Tennis Center.

The Rebels opened the day with a 7-0 victory over Mercer, improving to 11-0 this season. Ole Miss claimed the doubles point with wins from Stefano D’Agostino and Pietro Pampanin, and the No. 18 duo of Isac Strömberg and Kai Milburn. In singles, freshman Pampanin defeated Alex Aldaz 6-0, 6-3, and Noah Schlagenhauf beat Masuda 6-1, 6-3. Benjamin Martin clinched the match with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Prince Gandonou.

Later, Ole Miss defeated Memphis 4-1, securing its 11th consecutive win. The Rebels again took the doubles point, with wins from Chambonniere and Martin, and D’Agostino and Pampanin. In singles, Strömberg and Chambonniere earned victories, while Memphis’s Marcos Fabra Castro secured a point for the visitors. The match ended with Chambonniere winning the final singles match 6-4, 6-1 to seal the victory.

The Rebels will host Belmont on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Palmer Salloum Tennis Center as part of their home stretch this season.
