Ole Miss Men’s Golf Opens Spring Season Strong at Watersound Invitational
The University of Mississippi men’s golf team, ranked No. 9 nationally, posted a 10-under-par 270 in the opening round of the Watersound Invitational in Panama City Beach, Florida, according to the school’s athletics department.
Freshman Daniel Tolf led the Rebels with a career-best five-under 66, going bogey-free and recording two birdies on the front nine and three on the back. Tolf is in second place heading into Tuesday’s second round.
Cohen Trolio is one stroke behind Tolf, tied for third after shooting a 66, marking his third round in the 60s this season. Cameron Tankersley rebounded from early bogeys to shoot a team-best 69, finishing the day in red numbers for the ninth time this year.
Collins Trolio posted an even-par 70, while Tom Fischer shot 71 and Finn Meister, competing as an individual, shot 73. Ole Miss led the field in par 3 scoring during the round.
