Ole Miss Men’s Golf Opens Spring at Watersound Invitational

The University of Mississippi men’s golf team, ranked No. 9 nationally, is kicking off its spring schedule at the Watersound Invitational in Panama City Beach, Florida. The tournament runs from Feb. 16 to Feb. 18 at the Sharks Tooth Golf Course.

The event features 12 teams, including four SEC programs ranked inside the top 11 nationally. The field also includes Connecticut, Florida State, Kentucky, Michigan State, Navy, Ohio State, TCU, and Vanderbilt, among others.

Shark’s Tooth Golf Course, nestled among coastal oaks and pines along Lake Powell, stretches 7,246 yards. Its undulating greens, mature trees, and deep bunkers provide a challenging setting for the competition. The course offers scenic views of pine forests and the lake.

Ole Miss’s lineup includes seniors Cameron Tankersley, Tom Fischer, Cohen Trolio, and Collins Trolio, along with freshmen Finn Meister and Daniel Tolf. Tankersley, ranked No. 11 in PGA TOUR U and No. 21 in WAGR, recently won his first collegiate title at The Invitational at The Honors Course. Fischer, ranked No. 17 in PGA TOUR U, boasts nine rounds of par or better. Tolf has five rounds below par this season, with 40 birdies.

The team aims to build on its recent success, including a victory at The Invitational at the Honors Course, where Tankersley earned medalist honors. Ole Miss has a history of postseason appearances and set program records last season for team rounds under par and in the top five finishes. The Rebels also achieved their first No. 1 ranking in school history in October 2024.
