Ole Miss men’s basketball hosts LSU in key SEC matchup Wednesday night
The Ole Miss men’s basketball team will host LSU on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the SJB Pavilion, with coverage on the SEC Network, according to university officials.
Ole Miss enters the game with an 11-16 record overall and a 3-11 mark in Southeastern Conference play. LSU holds a 14-13 record and is 2-12 in the SEC. The Rebels are led by head coach Chris Beard in his third season, while LSU is coached by Matt McMahon in his fourth year.
This will be the 220th meeting between the two programs, dating back to 1910. LSU currently leads the series 127-92, but Ole Miss has won four of the last five matchups and owns a 56-42 advantage in games played at home in Oxford. The teams last met on Feb. 8, 2025, with Ole Miss winning 72-70 in Baton Rouge.
In that game, Dre Davis scored 22 points for Ole Miss, while Cam Carter led LSU with 16 points. LSU’s season has been marked by struggles in SEC play, with wins over Missouri and South Carolina being their only conference victories.
Ole Miss has been effective in limiting turnovers this season, averaging 9.7 per game, which ranks 27th nationally. Senior guard AJ Storr has been a key contributor off the bench, averaging 18.1 points in SEC games and providing a scoring spark for the Rebels.
The game also features notable individual performances, including freshman Patton Pinkins, who scored a career-high 25 points earlier this season, and Malik Dia, who has recorded multiple double-doubles. The Rebels also rank third in the SEC in bench scoring, averaging nearly 31 points per game.
Ole Miss aims to build on recent successes and improve its SEC standing against the Tigers on Wednesday night.
