Ole Miss Falls to No. 25 Tennessee 84-66 in Knoxville
Ole Miss men’s basketball suffered an 84-66 defeat at the hands of No. 25 Tennessee on Tuesday night in Knoxville. The Rebels, who are 11-11 overall and 3-6 in SEC play, played their third consecutive away game.
Ole Miss opened the game with a three-pointer from Ilias Kamardine to take an early lead. Tennessee responded with an 18-9 run, taking control at the 12:18 mark. The Rebels went on a 10-3 run over the next few minutes, trimming Tennessee’s lead to one point. The Volunteers regained momentum before halftime, leading 26-25 at the break.
In the second half, Tennessee extended its lead to 55-42 with 9:25 remaining. Ole Miss called a timeout but was unable to mount a comeback. Tennessee maintained its advantage for the rest of the game. AJ Storr scored 15 points for the Rebels, while Patton Pinkins added another 15. Kamardine tied his season best with three three-pointers.
The Rebels will travel to Austin, Texas, on Saturday to face Texas at 1 p.m. in their final game of a four-game road stretch. The game will be televised on ESPN2. Ole Miss will look to improve its SEC standing in upcoming matchups.
