OLE MISS — Ole Miss senior Tristan Bissetta has been named to the Golden Spikes Award Midseason Watch List by USA Baseball and the award’s advisory board. Bissetta is one of 45 players nationwide and one of 16 from the Southeastern Conference to earn the recognition.
The senior transfer leads Ole Miss in several offensive categories, including batting average, slugging percentage, hits, RBIs, home runs, and total bases. He ranks second in the SEC in home runs with 14, fourth in total bases with 85, fifth in RBIs with 38, sixth in slugging percentage at .746, and seventh in RBIs per game at 1.27, according to the university.
Bissetta has set career highs this season in home runs, RBIs, and total bases. He has recorded four multi-home run games, including performances against Jackson State, Baylor, Austin Peay, and Kentucky. Notably, on Feb. 18 against Jackson State, he hit two home runs in the third inning, becoming the first Rebel to do so in nearly a decade. The last Rebel to hit two home runs in a single inning was Nick Fortes in 2017.
The award recognizes the nation’s top college baseball players midseason. Bissetta’s inclusion highlights his impactful season as Ole Miss competes in NCAA Division I baseball.
