Ole Miss Baseball rallies in sixth inning to beat North Alabama 8-5

Ole Miss rallied with a big sixth inning to defeat North Alabama 8-5 Wednesday night at Oxford-University Stadium. The Rebels improved to 12-2 on the season, while the Lions fell to 7-6, according to the game summary.

North Alabama took an early lead on a solo home run by Dylan Coleman in the first inning. Ole Miss tied the game in the third on a homer by Tristan Bissetta. The Lions retook the lead in the fourth and extended it in the fifth, scoring four runs to make it 4-1.

The Rebels’ decisive rally came in the sixth, when they scored five runs. Will Furniss and Collin Reuter contributed key hits, tying the game. A weather delay of more than an hour followed, during which lightning caused a halt in play. After the game resumed, Ole Miss continued its offensive surge, extending its lead to 6-4.

North Alabama responded in the seventh with a double from Alex Wade to score Jackson Westmoreland, narrowing the gap to 6-5. Ole Miss pushed across two more runs in the bottom half, with Furniss and Hayden Federico driving in runs to make it 8-5. Landon Koenig earned his second save of the season for the Rebels.

JP Robertson earned the win, improving to 2-0 on the season, while Justus Agosto took the loss for North Alabama. Ole Miss hosts Evansville this weekend for a three-game series at Swayze Field, beginning Friday, according to the university.
