Ole Miss Baseball Hosts Arkansas State and Jackson State for Midweek Games
Ole Miss baseball continues its 2026 campaign with midweek matchups against Arkansas State and Jackson State. Both games are set for 4 p.m. at Swayze Field in Oxford, Mississippi.
The Rebels opened their season with a three-game sweep of Nevada, outscoring the Wolfpack 29-6 across the series. Outfielder Tristan Bissetta hit .500 with seven RBIs and five runs scored in his first three games. Will Furniss also batted .500 with five runs scored. The pitching staff recorded 35 strikeouts during opening weekend, their highest total since 2023.
Ole Miss will feature top pitchers Owen Kelly and Terry Hayes Jr. in the upcoming games. Both contests will be streamed live on SEC Network+ with broadcasters Jake Hromada and Keith Kessinger calling the action. Fans can also listen on the Ole Miss Radio Network with David Kellum and Brad Henderson.
Arkansas State comes into Tuesday’s game with a 2-0 record after sweeping Stony Brook in its opening series. The Red Wolves, led by second-year coach Mike Silva, scored 25 runs in the series and are led offensively by Ashton Quiller and Patrick Engskov. Lane Walton, a transfer, hit three home runs in the series and drove in six RBIs. The team’s pitchers struck out 27 batters with a combined ERA of 4.15.
Jackson State, under 20th-year head coach Omar Johnson, also begins its season with a 1-2 record after participating in the MLB HBCU Power Series. The Tigers scored 11 runs in their series against Prairie View A&M and are led at the plate by Hederick Torres and Wilbert Perez. Jackson State last faced Ole Miss in 2018, and the Rebels are undefeated in nine previous matchups against the Tigers.
Ole Miss senior Hunter Elliott will start on the mound, returning as one of the most experienced pitchers. Last season, he recorded a 10-3 record with 102 strikeouts and a 2.94 ERA. The Rebels’ offense set a program record with 124 home runs in 2025, with key players like Judd Utermark and Austin Fawley returning to the lineup. The team aims to extend its winning streak against Arkansas State and Jackson State this week.
