Ole Miss Baseball Completes Series Sweep of Missouri State with 3-2 Victory

Ole Miss baseball defeated Missouri State 3-2 on Sunday at Swayze Field, completing a series sweep. The Rebels improved to 8-0 with the victory, while the Bears dropped to 3-4, according to game officials.

Dom Decker opened the scoring with his first collegiate home run, a 369-foot blast in the first inning that marked the Rebels’ eighth straight game with a first-inning run. Utermark’s home run in the seventh inning tied the game at two, setting the stage for a late-game rally.

Brayden Randle delivered the game-winning RBI in the bottom of the eighth, driving in Reuter after a double and a walk. Randle has now produced two game-winning hits in the past week, including a sacrifice fly against Arkansas State, according to Ole Miss officials.

Wil Libbert pitched well in his second consecutive strong outing, tying his career high with seven strikeouts while allowing two earned runs. Collin Reuter contributed offensively with two doubles, helping to spark the Rebel offense. Walker Hooks and JP Robertson pitched the final two innings, with Robertson earning his first win of the season.

The Rebels will host Southeast Missouri State in a midweek game on Tuesday, streamed on SECN+. Ole Miss’s season-opening start is on pace to be their best since the 2022 national championship team, officials noted.
