No. 11 Mississippi State Women’s Golf Starts Chevron Collegiate Monday in Texas
The Mississippi State women’s golf team, ranked 11th nationally, will compete in the Chevron Collegiate in Humble, Texas. The tournament begins Monday with two rounds, followed by a final round on Tuesday, according to school officials.
Coverage of each day will be streamed on the Babygrande Golf YouTube channel. Monday’s coverage runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while Tuesday’s coverage is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Ten of the 17 teams in the field are ranked inside the top 50 nationally. Mississippi State is one of three teams in the top 15, joining No. 3 Oregon and No. 6 Arkansas, according to the tournament organizers.
Avery Weed will lead the Bulldogs. She boasts a team-best scoring average of 69.9 and is ranked second among college golfers nationally. Ines Belchior, a freshman, is coming off her third top-10 finish of the season and recorded her third round in the 60s at the Moon Golf Invitational.
Samantha Whateley will play in the middle of the lineup. She has a season scoring average of 73.1. Moa Stridh, who shot her second-best finish relative to par at the Moon Invitational, will tee off fourth. Izzy Pellot will round out the Bulldogs’ five players, marking her 111th career round at Mississippi State.
The team will start Monday’s play with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring is available at scoreboard.clippd.com, and coverage can be viewed on Babygrande Golf’s YouTube channel, accessible via their website.
