Night Hawks top Toppers in SSAC basketball game

Blue Mountain, Miss. — Thomas University defeated Blue Mountain 85-76 Thursday night in a Southern States Athletic Conference game. The Night Hawks took control in the second half to earn the victory.

Thomas jumped out to an early lead, building a 42-29 advantage by halftime behind balanced scoring and efficient play. The team maintained momentum after the break, extending its lead as the Toppers fought to close the gap.

Blue Mountain responded with key baskets and strong defensive pressure, but the Night Hawks kept enough distance to secure the win. Gavin Shannon led the Toppers with 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting. Jonathan Baker added 19 points, five rebounds, and three assists. RJ Robinson scored 10 points and grabbed seven rebounds off the bench. Esrael Yant contributed nine points for Blue Mountain.

The Toppers showed resilience and effort throughout the game as they continue conference play, but the Night Hawks held on for the win.
