Mississippi Valley State Looks to Return to SWAC Tournament in 2026

Mississippi Valley State University’s baseball program, led by Head Coach CJ Bilbrey, is optimistic about the team’s prospects for the 2026 season. The team is seeking its first SWAC Tournament appearance since 2018, according to sources familiar with the program.

The Delta Devils have a mix of experienced players and new talents. Returning starters include senior infielder Tanner Aoki, who posted a .354 batting average last season, and senior catcher Tom Early. Pitchers such as senior James Rivera and junior Eric Williams are also expected to play key roles.

Among the newcomers are pitchers Cody Leming and Eric Torrero, along with outfielder Gabe Huelsing. Coaches hope these players will strengthen the roster and improve team performance. The team will open the season in Nacogdoches, Texas, with a series against Stephen F. Austin scheduled from Feb. 13-15.

All games will be streamed on ESPN+ and live stats will be available for each game. Tickets can be purchased online through the Fajacks’ ticketing website. The season’s success will depend on how well the team integrates its returning veterans and newcomers, the coach said.
