Mississippi Valley State Baseball Players Earn SWAC Weekly Honors
Mississippi Valley State’s Tom Early and Isreal Ramos earned Southwestern Athletic Conference baseball honors following standout performances last week.
Early was named SWAC Co-Hitter of the Week after batting .412 (7-for-17) with eight RBIs over four games. He recorded at least one hit in every contest and had a key moment in the series finale against Alcorn State, going 2-for-5 with four RBIs, including a bases-clearing triple. Early also posted two multi-hit games, drew two walks, and stole a base, fueling the Delta Devils’ offense throughout the week.
Ramos earned SWAC Co-Newcomer of the Week honors after a breakout series that helped Mississippi Valley State secure a win over Alcorn State. He opened the weekend by going 3-for-5 with four runs scored, six RBIs, and two home runs. Ramos continued his strong play with timely hitting and power production, establishing himself as one of the conference’s top offensive performers.
