Mississippi State’s Charles Cross to Make Super Bowl Debut with Seahawks
Charles Cross is set to become the 41st player from Mississippi State to participate in the Super Bowl. The Seahawks’ starting left tackle will take the field Sunday at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
Cross, a first-round pick (ninth overall) by Seattle in 2022, will represent Mississippi State for the 63rd time in the Super Bowl. He will be making his first appearance in the game.
The Laurel native started all 14 regular-season games at left tackle and both of Seattle’s playoff games. According to Pro Football Focus, he has the second-best pass blocking grade among offensive linemen in the playoffs at 85.3 and holds the fourth-highest overall offensive grade at 83.3.
The Seahawks will face the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LX on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. ET, broadcast on NBC and Peacock. Seattle defeated the Patriots 23-20 in overtime during their previous meeting in Foxborough on Sept. 15, 2024.
At least one Mississippi State player has appeared in six of the last seven Super Bowls, highlighting the school’s recent history of NFL success.
