Mississippi State to Conclude Hofstra Series with Saturday Doubleheader Due to Weather

Mississippi State has announced it will conclude its weekend series against Hofstra with a Saturday doubleheader, citing expected inclement weather forecast for Sunday, according to the university’s athletics department.

The doubleheader will start at noon, with the second game scheduled to begin 45 minutes after the first concludes. Both games are scheduled for nine innings. The series opener on Friday resulted in a 6-5 victory for Mississippi State.

For Saturday’s games, sophomore pitchers Charlie Foster and Tomas Valincius are slated to start for Mississippi State. Hofstra will send senior right-hander Sean Hamilton and sophomore Christian Rasmussen to the mound.

All tickets purchased for Saturday and Sunday will be valid for the doubleheader. Saturday tickets will provide seating priority for the first game, while Sunday tickets will be standing room only. Conversely, for the second game, Sunday tickets will have priority seating, and Saturday tickets will be standing room only. Only Saturday parking passes will be valid for the game day.

Fans can use their Saturday and Sunday tickets to access the Triple Crown Club for both games, as the stadium will not be cleared between contests. Alcohol sales will cease during the first game but will resume once the umpires leave the field.

The scheduled softball game, The Snowman: Alex Wilcox Memorial, remains unchanged due to its tournament format and travel arrangements, according to university officials.
