Mississippi State Ready for SEC Indoor Track and Field Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Mississippi State track and field is preparing to compete in the SEC Indoor Championships this weekend, hosted by Texas A&M University. The meet begins Thursday afternoon and concludes Saturday evening.

This marks the first competition of the season with all 16 SEC track and field teams participating. The conference is considered a powerhouse, with 12 men’s teams and nine women’s teams ranked in the top 25 nationally, according to USTFCCCA.

Mississippi State is sending 42 athletes to compete in 27 events. Of those, 23 will be making their SEC Indoor debut. Several Bulldogs have prior SEC final experience, including Nicholas Fakorede, who finished fourth in the 60-meter dash at the 2025 championships.

At the 2024 conference meet, Roury McCloyen and Tafada Wright advanced to the final in the shot put and weight throw, respectively. Additionally, All-SEC athletes Marie Rougetet and Ramat Jimoh, recognized for their performances at the 2025 outdoor championships, will look to replicate their success in the indoor season.
