Mississippi State Hosts No. 6 LSU for Senior Day Showdown

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Mississippi State will host No. 6 LSU on Sunday in its regular-season finale at Humphrey Coliseum. The game is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. CT and will be televised on the SEC Network.

LSU enters the game with a 25-4 overall record and an 11-4 mark in Southeastern Conference play. The Tigers are riding a three-game winning streak and average 95.2 points per game, outscoring opponents by nearly 36 points.

The Bulldogs, with a 15-11 record and 5-10 in the SEC, are considered one of the last four teams in ESPN’s Bracketology, according to Charlie Creme. Mississippi State features freshman Madison Francis, who was named to the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Late Season Team. She averages 2.8 blocks per game, ranking second nationally and first in the SEC. Francis also leads the team with 13.4 points per game.

Destiney McPhaul has dished out 120 assists this season, the ninth most in the league. Seven Bulldogs have led the team in scoring at least once, with Francis and Favour Nwaedozi averaging double figures at 13.4 and 12.2 points per game, respectively. Nwaedozi also averages a double-double with 10 rebounds per game.

LSU is led by Flau’jae Johnson, who scores 14.1 points per game. The Tigers hold a 51-16 all-time series advantage over Mississippi State and are 20-9 in Starkville. The Bulldogs won six of the last 10 meetings, but LSU defeated Mississippi State 81-67 last season in Baton Rouge.
