Mississippi State Hosts Georgia in Women’s Basketball on Thursday

Mississippi State women’s basketball returns to Humphrey Coliseum on Thursday for a Southeastern Conference matchup against Georgia. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT, and the game will be available on SEC Network+.

The Bulldogs, who are 16-8 overall and 3-7 in SEC play, are coming off a loss to No. 3 South Carolina. Fans attending the game are encouraged to wear black, and the first 1,000 spectators will receive a free black State script shirt.

Mississippi State has won eight of its last 10 games against Georgia, including the most recent two. Georgia enters the game with a 19-5 record and a 5-5 mark in conference play, after snapping a two-game losing streak with a win over Missouri.

Mississippi State’s Madison Francis led the team with 12 points in the loss to South Carolina. She has scored in double figures 17 times this season and is on the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watchlist. Francis is also tied for the team lead in scoring with Favour Nwaedozi, who averages 12.6 points per game.

Georgia features four players averaging double figures, led by Dani Carnegie with 18.5 points per game. The Bulldogs hold a slight series advantage, leading 30-23 overall, but Mississippi State has won eight of the last 10 meetings, including the last two.
