Mississippi State Golf Finishes Eighth at Watersound Invitational Second Round
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. — Mississippi State stands in eighth place after the second round of the Watersound Invitational, according to results released Tuesday.
Jackson Skinner, a freshman, carded a career-best 6-under 64 in the first round. He followed with a steady 70 in the second, including three birdies and a clutch par on his final hole. Skinner is tied for second overall at 134, 6-under par.
Garrett Endicott is tied for 23rd at 139, 1-under overall, after shooting 72 in the second round. Drew Wilson posted the Bulldogs’ second-best round of the day with a 71, bringing his total to 144 (+4). Dain Richie also shot 72 in the second round, matching Wilson’s total.
Ugo Malcor is at 149 (+9) after shooting 72 in round two, while Ben Kelling, competing as an individual, posted a 73 for a total of 142 (+2).
The Bulldogs will begin the final round with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. CT. Live results are available on SCOREBOARD.
Vanderbilt leads the tournament with a two-day total of 540, 20-under par. Arkansas is second at 546, and Ole Miss is third at 548. Mississippi State is among several teams within striking distance.
