Mississippi State Doubles Pair Ranks in Top 20
STARKVILLE, Miss. — A Mississippi State women’s tennis doubles team has cracked the top 20 in the latest ITA rankings. Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz and Chiara Di Genova moved into the No. 20 spot, their first appearance inside the top 20 this season, according to the ITA.
The duo has been dominant on court one, winning four consecutive matches and helping the Bulldogs secure the doubles point in recent contests. They have recorded two ranked victories, including a 6-3 win over No. 39 Carolina Gomez Alonso and Anet Koskel of Arkansas and a 6-4 victory against No. 21 Catherine Aulia and Leyla Britez Risso of Tennessee, the ITA reported.
Mississippi State’s other doubles tandems also remain ranked. Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz teams with Gianna Oboniye for the No. 32 spot, while Athina Pitta and Oboniye are ranked No. 52. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 51 nationally overall, according to team rankings.
