Mississippi State Completes Day One at Clemson’s Bob Pollock Invitational

CLEMSON, S.C. — Mississippi State track and field wrapped up the first day of the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson on Friday. The Bulldogs competed in 14 events, with 10 athletes recording personal bests, according to team sources.

Four Bulldogs advanced to the semifinals of the 60-meter hurdles, while three moved on in the 60-meter dash after strong preliminary performances. Nicholas Fakorede made it to the final of the 60 meters, finishing second overall with a time of 6.67 seconds, the team said.

Khalil Antoine set a personal best in the 60-meter hurdles, and Kyndall Sessom ran a season-best in the 60 meters. De’Kayla Simpson set a program record in the 400 meters with a time of 54.44 seconds, which is also her personal best. She finished 10th in the event.

The women’s distance medley relay team finished second overall in 11:27.00, placing the team fourth in the conference standings as of the end of day one, according to meet officials. Competition resumes Saturday morning with the men’s shot put. Live results are available on Flash Results, and the meet can be streamed on ACCNX.
