Mississippi State Baseball Trio Receives National Honors Ahead of Season

STARKVILLE, Miss. — Three Mississippi State baseball players received national recognition from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) ahead of the season opener next week.

Designated hitter Noah Sullivan was named a first-team All-American, while third baseman Ace Reese earned second-team honors. Outfielder Aidan Teel was selected for the fourth team, according to the NCBWA.

Reese was also placed on the watch list for the Golden Spikes Award, which is awarded annually to college baseball’s top player. Will Clark, a former Mississippi State player, won the award in 1985.

Sullivan, a graduate from Orlando, Florida, started all 59 games in 2025, batting .345 with 70 hits, 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 46 RBIs. He also posted a 1.96 ERA on the mound and made seven midweek starts, striking out 15 batters in 18 1/3 innings.

This marks Sullivan’s fourth preseason All-America honor. Reese led Mississippi State with a .352 batting average, 80 hits, 18 doubles, 21 homers and 66 RBIs last season. The third baseman also ranked in the top seven in the SEC in multiple categories.

Teel, a redshirt junior from Mahwah, New Jersey, started all 50 games for Virginia last season. He hit .317 with 59 hits, 20 doubles, seven homers and 40 RBIs. Known for his defensive skills, he posted a flawless fielding percentage and recorded five outfield assists.

The three players are set to begin the season against Hofstra in a three-game series from Feb. 13-15. Fans can stay updated on the team through the university’s official website and social media channels.
