Mississippi State Adds Six Players to 2026 Volleyball Roster
Mississippi State volleyball coach Julie Darty Dennis has announced six new recruits set to join the Bulldogs for the 2026 season. The incoming class includes Marie Jones, Kyla Scharfman, Sydnie Waller, Cassidy Cage, Paloma Routaboul, and Adriana Jeanpierre, according to a school release.
Dennis praised the group, saying, “This is a special group that we are really excited about. Cassidy, Paloma, Kyla, Marie, Sydnie, and Adriana are talented players who will bring energy and enthusiasm to our gym. We are constantly trying to raise the level and compete, and this group understands that goal.”
Cage, a 6-foot-2 middle blocker from Chicago, Illinois, was ranked the ninth-best player and third-best middle in Illinois by PrepDig. She helped her high school team win two state titles in 2024 and 2025 and was named Player of the Game in the IHSA 4A semifinals and finals in 2025. She also played for Sports Performance Club, earning several accolades including the Under Armour UA Next Dream Team Award in 2025.
Jeanpierre, a 5-foot-8 setter from St. Augustine, Florida, ranked the 16th best player in Florida. She led her team to district championships in 2023 and 2024 and earned MVP honors four times during her high school career. She surpassed 1,000 career kills in 2025 and recorded 500 digs along with 100 aces in 2024.
Jones, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter from Helena, Alabama, played for Alabama Performance, a program known for developing college athletes. Routaboul, a 5-foot-8 outside hitter from Buenos Aires, Argentina, participated in the South American U19 tournament in 2022 and the World U19 Championship in 2023. She also competed in the 2025 World U12 Championships for Argentina.
Scharfman, a 5-foot-8 libero from Lebanon, Tennessee, broke her school record with 499 digs her senior year. Waller, a 6-foot right side from Syracuse University, recorded 52 blocks and 169 kills in her three seasons with the Orange, with a season-high of eight blocks in a match against Ohio State.
