Mississippi College Athletes Recognized in GSC Winter Academic Awards
Mississippi College athletics received recognition in the Gulf South Conference Winter Academic Awards, with eight student-athletes named to the GSC All-Academic Team and 82 earning spots on the league’s Academic Honor Roll, according to a school release.
Among those honored are women’s basketball standout Nia Coleman and three men’s indoor track and field athletes: Sam Hodson, Evan Wrights, and Matias Vasquez. Four women’s indoor track and field athletes also received academic recognition.
The 82 selections to the GSC Academic Honor Roll reflect the program’s academic strength, with many student-athletes posting GPAs of 3.0 or higher and several earning perfect 4.0 marks. The conference recognition underscores Mississippi College’s emphasis on academics alongside athletic achievement.
Honorees from the winter 2025-26 awards include Nia Coleman of women’s basketball; and from men’s indoor track and field, Sam Hodson, Evan Wrights, and Matias Vasquez. From women’s indoor track and field, Bre Bell, Taylor Benoit, Madison Flugence, and Lauren Wallace also received honors.
