Millsaps Women’s Basketball Qualifies for 2026 NCAA Tournament

The Millsaps College women’s basketball team has secured a spot in the 2026 NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, the school announced Monday. The Majors will face No. 13 Bethel University (Minn.) in the first round.

The game is scheduled for 7:45 p.m. Friday at the Robertson Center in Arden Hills, Minnesota. Bethel, the No. 1 seed, will host the contest. The opening game features No. 19 UW-Platteville and No. 3 seed Coe College at 5:15 p.m., with the winners advancing to face each other later that evening.

This marks the fourth NCAA tournament appearance for Millsaps, which previously competed in 1995, 1996 and 2024. The team has a 1-3 record in NCAA postseason play, including a victory over Hendrix College in the 1996 first round. The Majors secured their bid after winning their second Southern Athletic Association tournament title in three seasons.

All tournament games will be streamed with live video and stats available online. The schedule includes the first round on Friday and the second round on Saturday, beginning at 7:45 p.m. The tournament features notable players such as Elyse Warren, Garin Freeman, and Tia Anderson.

Millsaps’ recent NCAA appearance follows a season in which the team finished with a 21-7 record. The program is based in Jackson, Mississippi, and was founded in 1890. The college is known for its academic excellence and commitment to liberal arts education, earning recognition from several national rankings and publications.
