Millsaps Softball’s Hailey Marange Named SAA Pitcher of the Week
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Millsaps College sophomore right-handed pitcher Hailey Marange was named the Southern Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday. The Madisonville, Louisiana, native delivered a standout performance during the team’s spring break road games, earning two wins in three appearances.
Marange pitched a total of 14 innings, posting a 1.00 earned run average. She struck out four batters, allowed only two earned runs, and walked three. Her week was highlighted by a complete seven-inning shutout against Hendrix College, where she limited the Warriors to three hits and two walks.
This is the second weekly honor for a Millsaps player, as junior Ella Morgan Sears was named the SAA Softball Athlete of the Week on March 2. The Majors are set to host Illinois Wesleyan on Wednesday for a doubleheader starting at 5 p.m. Live video and stats will be available at gomajors.com.
