GRAMBLING, La. — Mississippi Valley State University’s women’s basketball team did not have a shot blocked for the first time this season but still suffered an 84-59 loss at Grambling State on Monday.

Sydnei Marshall led the Devilettes with a season-high 17 points, making seven of 12 shots (58.3%) and adding five rebounds, two assists, and three steals. Ja’la Douglas also posted a season-best with six rebounds in 19 minutes. Ariel Jefferson led MVSU with nine rebounds, while Kylah McCullers dished out four assists to top the team in that category.
